Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-forward Solar Electrical Procurement Assistant to support our supply chain, estimating, and field operations. This role bridges the gap between digital data management and physical project execution, offering a flexible remote/hybrid structure with occasional on-site travel for warehouse inventory and field team support.

Responsibilities

  • As a Procurement Assistant, you will work closely with management to support the full lifecycle of project materials and equipment. Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Estimating & Spec Sheets: Assist with material takeoffs and estimating for electrical/solar projects. Utilize PDF editors to compile, merge, organize, and format manufacturer technical specification sheets and submittal packages for client approvals.
  • Vendor Pricing Management: Assist in obtaining, organizing, and maintaining up-to-date pricing lists and rate sheets from key electrical and material vendors.
  • ERP & Cost Coding: Handle accurate data entry into our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, ensuring all purchased materials are precisely cost-coded to their respective job sites.
  • Expediting & Field Logistics: Monitor open material orders, track transit status, and proactively communicate clear delivery timelines to our construction field teams.
  • Equipment Rental Coordination: Assist with sourcing and ordering heavy equipment (such as telehandlers, forklifts, and excavators) needed for various active job sites.
  • Vendor Negotiation: Assist in negotiating competitive material pricing and locking in favorable rental rates with suppliers based on project pipelines.

On-Site Material & Inventory Support:

  • Participate in periodic physical inventory management and audits at our warehouse.
  • Occasionally visit project sites to assist with preparing, staging, and documenting surplus materials for transport from site to site.
  • Reporting: Assist with compiling various procurement, inventory, and budget-tracking reports for management.

Qualifications / Requirements

Technical & Digital Skills

  • Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read, interpret, and extract accurate material counts from electrical plans, line diagrams, and construction schematics.
  • Advanced Excel Proficiency: Highly skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. You should be comfortable navigating large datasets and using functions to manage pricing and inventory logs.
  • PDF Editor Proficiency: Proficient with PDF editing software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam Revu) to mark up technical drawings, extract data, and compile multi-page project submittals.
  • AI Integration: Ability to actively integrate modern AI tools (such as ChatGPT or Gemini) into your daily routine to improve efficiency, analyze data patterns, and streamline documentation workflows.
  • ERP Familiarity: Experience with, or a strong aptitude for learning, construction/procurement ERP data entry software.  Experience with VISTA, and/or ProjectSight preferred.

Communication & General Skills

  • Polished Correspondence: Exceptional written communication skills, with a proven ability to write polite, clear, and highly professional emails to preserve strong vendor partnerships.
  • Logistical Flexibility: Willingness to balance a hybrid computer-based workflow with physical, hands-on tasks during occasional site visits.
  • Detail-Oriented: Sharp focus on accuracy, especially when dealing with numerical part codes, cost allocations, and shipping deadlines.

Arman Ramos

Arman Ramos has been with us as our Controller at SG Inc since September 2023. He is a graduate of Economics from the University of Virginia with a double major in Spanish. Arman oversees day to day operating finances as well as management reporting using Quickbooks and Excel. He also has working knowledge of Python and Stata.

Samson Hoxie

Construction Manager

Samson Hoxie has 12 years of various construction experience including heavy equipment operation, masonry, ironworking, HVAC and electrical. Six of those years within the solar industry specializing in racking and O&M. Another four years of as a consultant in solar.

Alder Valdez

Construction Manager

Alder Valdez is a Construction Manager at SG Inc. Alder joined SGI in 2019 while at the same time acquiring his Bachelor’s in Business Administration/Management from VCU. Alder frequently works hand and hand with his father, Francisco Valdez, on SGI’s most critical projects. In 2023, Alder took charge of an 86MW Ground Mount project in Virginia and showcased his meticulous construction management abilities.

Adam Diehl

Construction Manager

Adam is a Construction Manager at SG Inc. After serving in the Marine Corps, Adam turned to the electrical trade and has spent 18 years perfecting his craft.  He’s an expert in all fields with specialties in data, communication and troubleshooting.  He’s focused on commercial/utility solar for the last 10 years and installed over 50MW.  Adam is OSHA 30 certified and a trained equipment operator.

Eduardo Navia-Jofre

Testing, Commissioning and Communications Manager

Eduardo our Testing, Commissioning and Communications Manager at SG Inc. Eduardo comes to the team with 20 years of experience working for an ISP in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. He has an extensive background in telecommunications and network deployment, and has considerable expertise with fiber optic and twisted-pair cabling.

Kyle Bielby

Sr. Construction Manager

Kyle is an experienced electrician and solar professional leading large solar installations in upstate NY for SG Inc. Kyle manages subcontractors, SG Inc. in-house teams, is an experienced equipment operator and holds an OSHA 30. In 2021 alone, Kyle helped lead SG Inc install 45MW of ground mount solar installations.

James Shank

Procurement Manager

James Shank is a Procurement Manager for SG Inc. James has over 15 years of supply chain and management experience. He previously worked at PBNA as a Customer Supply Chain Manager. He holds his OSHA 10 and a BA in Marketing and Management from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jon Dove

Project Manager

Jon Dove is a Project Manager experienced on both the Development and Construction business units of wind and solar, deploying over 1 gigawatt since 2012. He has held roles with owners, developers, and contractors from Illinois to Maine executing projects from Origination to Closeout. He holds OSHA 30 and FAA Part 107 certifications.

Michael LittleJohn

Project Manager

Michael is a Project Manager for SG Inc. Michael’s construction background in managing subcontractors and coordinating different trades has enabled SG Inc. to offer seamless turnkey construction on commercial solar projects, particularly ground mounts where he coordinates civil, mechanical, electrical and fence contractors.  Michael is a licensed Journeyman and has contributed to 150 MW of solar PV including a 9 MW rooftop and 101 MW ground mount in Maryland.

Jake Timcik

Director of Operations

Jake Timcik is Director of Operations for SG Inc.  Jake has a decade of experience in sales and inventory management. He previously worked at CAB Solar as a project developer and gained expertise Solar PV plan reviewing and takeoffs. He is OSHA 30 certified and has a passion for learning new technologies.

Hillary Coates

Project Manager

Hillary is a Project Manager for SG Inc. She formerly led projects as a senior Project Manager for a nationwide EPC. She has contributed to the installation of more than 250 MW of solar and battery energy storage systems across the United States and its territories. She holds her OSHA 30 and a BS in Renewable Energy with a minor in Sustainable Construction Management from State University of New York Environmental Science and Forestry.

Ning Li

CFO

Ning is the CFO of SG Inc., with a BASc and an MEng in electrical engineering. She previously led construction of a 150MW solar farm in Virgina. Ning has a decade of experience working with RTO/ISOs and utilities, spanning power generation, transmission, and distribution. She also holds two patents in renewable energy space and is currently finishing her MBA at NYU Stern.

Jorge Ramos

President and CEO

Jorge is president and CEO of SG Inc. Jorge is Master Electrician and license holder for the company. He oversees all aspects of the company from business to banking to employees and customers. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston and CEI Engineering at George Mason University. He holds a NABCEP PV Certification and contributed to the installation of more than 500MW of solar PV projects.
